Yes, this happened!

At the traditional European Festival Awards ceremony, held last night as part of the largest European showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag, we won awards in two categories! We were named the Best Small Festival and the Best Indoor Festival by the award-giving body Yourope, the biggest association of European festivals. As part of the MENT platform, three Slovenian acts are also performing at the Eurosonic festival – Bowrain, Jardier and Širom.

The European Festival Awards (EFA) have been awarded to the best European music festivals since 2009. In 2017, the candidate pool included about 350 festivals in fifteen categories. In November, we were shortlisted for Best Small Festival and Best Indoor Festival. The selection committee and the public voted MENT Ljubljana the winner in both categories. Thank you all!

In each of the categories MENT Ljubljana was nominated in, a total of ten festivals competed for the title. Alongside MENT, this year’s EFA award winners include EXIT, Sziget, Roskilde, Pohoda, Down The Rabbit Hole, Goodlive (the promotor of Lollapalooza Berlin) and others.

In addition to the festivals selected according to size and type, the EFA awards also highlight the best new festivals, the best line-ups, brand activation, health and safety innovation, green operations, and socially responsible approaches to organising major music events.

The received awards represent major recognition and encouragement for our young festival, its team, audience, co-producers, partners, supporters, the city of Ljubljana and the Slovenian music scene in general.
